Business Travel — 5 Tips to Help You Cope

So you’ve landed the dream job advertised as ‘lots of travel required’, and you’re excited because you’re going to be visiting lots of exotic locations?

That’s amazing. Yet if you are not careful it will take its toll on your mental and physical health. Over the next few articles I’m going to give you a few tips to help you cope with it.

Your body clock is always out of sync.

Got a 10:00 meeting in Brussels? That means you’re getting the 06:00 flight from your nearest airport, assuming you are in Europe, although commuting between cities elsewhere in the world will be similar. You could be getting the train too, but the same tips work.

Because you need to be at the airport at least an hour beforehand then you’re going to be walking through the doors at 05:00 at the latest. This means your alarm is going off at 03:30.

By mid-morning you’ll be feeling the effects of the early start, especially if you’re not used to it. You’re also likely to be less mentally coherent than normal.
